mico (Mieko Shimizu) performed at a unique one-off night dedicated to the music of the incredible Moondog on the 30th May 2009 at the Barbican Centre. She recited the poetry of Louis Hardin and sung ‘Fujiyama’ along with Lightspeed Champion, together with music performed by Andi Toma (Mouse On Mars) and Britten Sinfonia, conducted by Abdré De Ridder. mico will be performing at this years Takeover Festival held at Southbanks Royal Festival Hall! Takeover will be an extraordinary mix of super-fresh sounds, jaw dropping visuals and culture-clash choreography.

mico is currently composing a ballet piece for the adaptation of 50s cult classic film Red Balloon.

mico is currently recording for a new EP!!!

mico's new track 'i see a soul' will feature on the german label 'monika enterprise' 10th aniversary compilation. the release is planned for november 2007.

mico is now an associate artist of the south bank, since she participated in aftershock in april and june with creative director nitin sawhney and performed at the royal festival hall.

mico's album"phenomena of the mind" is now available from itunes uk / europe / japan.

mico's new trax and re-mix by other djs will be released from a brand new japanese label "good and evil records" in 2007!
